HMF Consultants is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer – Cable Design to join our team in Karachi.
You will take a leading role in power cable system design for transmission and distribution projects, including underground cable design for voltage levels up to 400kV, and support and guide Graduate Electrical Engineers and Draftsmen.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering
- Strong understanding of power systems and underground cable design
- Experience with cable design for voltage levels up to 400kV
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong analytical and technical documentation skills
- Knowledge of relevant power cable design standards and installation practices
- Good English communication skills
Preferred
- Master's degree in Power Systems Engineering
- Progression toward professional engineering membership / Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
Key responsibilities
- Design power cable systems for transmission and distribution projects
- Perform cable sizing, thermal rating and cable pulling calculations
- Prepare cable route layouts, installation drawings, schedules and technical reports
- Review cable specifications and manufacturer datasheets
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and DNO requirements
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and participate in design reviews
- Support and guide Graduate Electrical Engineers and Draftsmen
